This rare map was published as part of the ‘Survey of the Coast of the United States’. The Trigonometrical Survey was headed by A.D. Bache, while the hydrology survey was completed by a party under the command of B.F. Sands. Bodega Bay, originally a Russian settlement and port, is located approximately 66 miles to the north of San Francisco. The map provides detailed nautical information for naval operations in the area including tide information, soundings and sailing directions, all invaluable to navigation of the area.
Condition: This map is in A condition on light paper with original folds as issued.
