Antique Maps of Central America
New World Cartographic specializes in maps from all around the globe, including lesser known geographical regions such as Central America. We have for sale an important piece of cartographic history- Sebastian Munster's 1555 Die Neüwen Inseln, which shows North and South America as connected continents. We also have several maps that feature Panama, including a 1940 pictorial map of the Republic of Panama, which shows the engineering marvel, the Panama Canal, as well as a sea chart by Giovanni Tommaso Masi that shows the Chagre River. It's the largest waterway in the canal and notes general topography, including place names, vegetation, drainage, lagoons, islands, coastlines and water depths, as well as coordinate points, a bar scale, and a compass rose.
