Antique Celestial Maps
Our selection of Antique Celestial Maps features some of our most striking pieces. Most recognizable is our 1970 Looart poster of the 'Earthrise' photo, taken by astronaut William Anders from the surface of the moon in 1968. We also have for sale a gorgeous 1799 map by Samuel Dunn that shows both the most recently obtained cartographic data as well as the most up-to-date celestial diagrams of the era. For those interested in educational texts, William and Alexander Keith Johnston's Popular Astronomy Plate 3 showing the magnitude of the sun from various planets and early photographic views of solar spots may be a good fit. Capturing our imagination, our maps depicting stars, planets, and celestial orbits are an excellent choice for scientists and dreamers alike.
