By: Henri Abraham Chatelain
Date: 1719 (Published) Amsterdam
Dimensions: 16 x 20.25 inches (41 cm x 51.4 cm)
Chatelain based this map of the Middle East on De L’Isle’s map of the same title. The map is a good strong impression on heavy paper. This map shows the boundaries of kingdoms and nations at the turn of the eighteenth century of regions of the world where today the most serious armed conflicts since WWII are taking place. The map is highly detailed with place names, geographic features and Chatelain’s remarks about the region (in French).
Condition: This map is in B+ condition. Some smudges in the area of the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. Light toning around the edges. An impressive black and white map.
