An original late 19th century fine art print of a painting by the Norwegian artist, Christian Krohg,  that was on display at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This antique print,  was part of the 1893 Geo. Barrie publication of Art and Architecture by William Walton.

Clearly the British crew is celebrating victory, as a small boat readies to board the tattered, defeated ship.  The British uniforms are apparent, as is the flag, yet the nationality of the defeated ship is unknown.  The British are well-known for their superior Navy, as is portrayed in this intricate and lively painting of the end of a battle.

"In the middle distance, the great shattered hulk of the enemy-whose exact antionality is discreetly suppressed, looms up through the smoke, and from the battered and smoking colossus in the foreground, whose wooden wall occupies nearly half the view, the boats crowded with sailors, officers, and marines are putting off to board."

Condition:  This print is in A condition on heavy 19th century fine art paper that displays an embossed Columbian Exposition stamp of authenticity.  There are no visible tears, holes, or folds.
