An original late 19th century fine art print of a painting by the American artist Julius L. Stewart that was on display at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This antique print, etched by Eugene-Andre Champollion was part of the 1893 Geo. Barrie publication of Art and Architecture by William Walton.

The artist displays remarkable skill of depicting each participant at the Ball, with distinct uniqueness.  This scene allows the viewer an opportunity to be witness to the hairstyles and fashion during the 19th Century.  You can almost hear the music, as the dancers move freely through  the chandeliered ballroom. The original description that accompanies this print describes the work as follows;

"The painting, exhibited at the Paris Exposition of 1889, was the first of several social assemblages. The very great variety of his sitters' heads, and the unmistakable air of good living and good breeding are remarkable."

Condition:  This print is in A condition on heavy 19th century fine art paper that displays an embossed Columbian Exposition stamp of authenticity. No tears, holes, or foxing.
