A fine engraved print portrait of Samuel Houston from a daguerreotype circa 1856. The portrait is surrounded by an elaborate scrollwork border featuring a hilltop view of the city of Houston below.
Samuel Houston is widely recognized as a primary leader and hero of the War for Independence between Texas and Mexico. He served as the first and third president of the Republic of Texas and was one of the first two individuals to represent Texas in the United States Senate. His name lives on today as one of the largest American cities.
Condition: This print is in fine condition showing a dark impression on clean paper with no stains, or tears.
