This Privacy Policy explains how Vintage Map Shop Inc., doing business as New World Cartographic ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit or buy from nwcartographic.com.
Section 1: What we do with your information
When you buy from our store, we collect the personal information you give us as part of the sale, such as your name, address, email address and phone number.
When you browse our store, we automatically receive your computer's IP address and basic information about your browser and operating system.
Email marketing: if you sign up for our newsletter, we will send you emails about new inventory, events and other updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

How do you get my consent? When you give us personal information to complete a purchase, verify your payment, place an order, arrange a delivery or return a purchase, you consent to our collecting and using it for that purpose only. If we ask for your information for another purpose, such as marketing, we will ask for your consent directly or give you a chance to say no.

Section 4: Shopify
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform we use to sell to you. Your data is stored in Shopify's data storage, databases and general application, on secure servers behind a firewall.
Payment: card payments are processed by Shopify and its payment providers. Card data is encrypted under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and kept only as long as needed to complete your purchase. See Shopify's Terms of Service and Privacy Statement for more.
Section 5: Third-party services
The third-party providers we use collect, use and disclose your information only as far as needed to provide their services to us. Some, such as payment processors, have their own privacy policies for the information we must give them to complete your purchase; we recommend reading them.
Some providers may be located in, or have facilities in, a different jurisdiction from you or us. If you use a service that involves such a provider, your information may become subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
The services we use include:
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use our site and which pages they view.
- Mailchimp, to send our email newsletter.
Once you leave our store's website, or are redirected to a third-party website or app, this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service no longer apply.

Section 6: Security
We take reasonable precautions and follow industry practices to protect your personal information from being lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

Our store uses cookies, small files stored by your browser, to keep your cart, remember your session and measure site traffic. Most are set by Shopify; others are set by the analytics and marketing tools named above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some store features may then stop working. If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we can continue to sell to you.
