The map provides local color and flavor, depicting cultural stereotypes, industries and activities of the state. A nice title cartouche is featured in the upper right where southwestern Wyoming occupies what might have been northeastern Utah. The Wasatch mountain range runs through the top center half of the map, with the Uinta mountains branching off toward the east.
The figure of Brigham Young is depicted with a woman on each arm along with Taylor’s note ‘in the good old days’. A number of indigenous Indians people the map and tourists visit the interesting natural features of southern Utah such as Zion and Bryce National Parks. The Great Salt Lake and the nearby desert of the same name occupy the upper left quadrant of the map.
