This is a joyful and scarce pictorial map / sugaroku game of Japan utilizing on the railway system of the latter part of the Taishō era (1912 - 36).
The map celebrates the history, culture, industry, fisheries, and natural beauty of Japan through pictorial imagery. A wide variety of sea life can be found surrounding the island nation, while a group of Japanese children float in a blimp celebrating and waving flags to show their patriotism.
The game is mostly laid upon the railway system with no obvious start or end point. Towns and cities are noted in read and blue, with rectangle or ovular borders. Several Rising Sun flags can be found throughout the game. Specific instructions line of lower border of the map.
Condition: Map is in B+ condition with some slight darkening of the paper around the title. The map has been backed with linen for archival and presentation purposes.
