This fascinating pictorial map was published in 1935 by Ruth Taylor. It appeared in the atlas published by Taylor and her husband Frank Taylor entitled “Our U.S.A. - a Gay Geography,” with the maps done by Ruth and the text by her husband.
The map provides local color and flavor, depicting cultural stereotypes, industries and activities of the state. The Rocky Mountains, shown starting in southern Wyoming, extend from north to south across the state into New Mexico. The primary river systems of the state are depicted, as are iconic images of the industries which fuel Colorado’s economy.
The map is peopled with figures such as skiers, alpinists, trappers, farmers, cowboys, Indians, coal and coal miners, coal miners, etc.
Condition: This map is in A condition. Pale minor staining and soiling of the edges.
