The work is exceptionally detailed and depicts a surprising number of settlements, villages, towns and small cities in the area of the Rocky Mountains. Idaho is shown with nine counties, and western Montana with eight. Details include railroads, settlements of various sizes, mining districts, Indian reservations and forts.
Though known for depicting minimal topography, this map from the Asher & Adams atlas includes most major and some smaller river systems, as well as many mountainous regions.
