1871 The Great Fire at Chicago - Bird's Eye View of the City
DESCRIPTION
This is an original antique print from the Illustrated London News dated October 21, 1871. The Great Chicago fire is claimed to have started at about 9 p.m. on October 8, in or around a small barn belonging to the O'Leary family. The most popular tale is of the O'Leary's cow kicking over the lantern which turned a small barn fire into a conflagration.
