Lying along Long Island Sound, Connecticut was the workshop capital of the New World.  From the State's factories come much of the silverware, tin-ware, cutlery, hardware, & firearms sold in stores throughout the U.S.  It has many mills which produce woolen, cotton, felt, & silk goods.   Hartford is the Insurance capital of the country. Farms produce tobacco, hay, vegetables, dairy & poultry products for the nearby cities along the Atlantic Seaboard.  This state is also home to many well-known Universities, such as Yale, Wesleyan, & Trinity College.
