This German made map of Illinois from 1845 exhibits a great representation of the development or lack there of in the new state during the mid - 1800s. Much of the state population resides in the southern half of the state and along the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. The north displays numerous Indian territories and villages as well as a lack of county and town development. The map includes river boat time tables and an insert of the Galena area in northwest Illinois.
Condition: Map is in A+ condition with nice original color and full margins.
