This is an authentic antique map of the United States, by Jean Alexandre Buchon. The map is from the French edition of Carey & Lea's American Atlas and was published in Paris in the year 1825.
This can best be described as a historical and statistical map of the United State completely absent of geographic detail with exception to the political boundaries of the states and territories. Information for each state includes the date they were added to the Union (except for the original 13), the capitol city, population as of 1820, and if applicable, the population in 1790. The vast western region colored yellow is recognized as land purchased by France April 30, 1803 or $15 million.
Condition: Map is in A condition, with full margins, bright color, and a nice impression of heavy paper.
