This is an attractively engraved and colored map of the British Isles displaying the land at the time of occupation by the Roman Empire. All provinces are color coded with town and cities labeled throughout. Near the border of present day England and Scotland Hadrian's Wall can be found. The wall was constructed around 122 AD to keep the Romans safe from Barbarian attacks out of the north.
Degrees of longitude and latitude surround the map with the bottom border representing degrees from London. A mileage scale and decorative title cartouche fill the top corners and add to the decorative aspects of the map.
Condition: Map is in B+ condition light paper toning and foxing along the margins and lightly within the image.
