An impressive and large map of Scotland by the leading British cartographer of the early 19th century. This map was printed on four sheets that have been joined for easy framing and enjoyment.
Cary's map of Scotland is rich in color and detail. Showing the entirety of Scottish lands the work includes inset maps of the Orkney and Shetland Islands. The topography of the Scottish highlands is beautifully rendered as are the many lakes and rivers that makeup the natural landscape. Human development such as castles, towns, roadways and political divisions are easily decipherable.
Condition: Map is in B condition with some areas of light soiling and offsetting. Paper is slightly crinkled along the bottom but would be covered once framed.
