The Arabian Peninsula, Iran, and India take up the center of the map, highlighting important cities of the regions like Delhi, Caboul (Kabul), and la Mecque (Mecca). Around the print are vignettes of historical scenes and figures. The Krak des Chevaliers in Syria is shown at the top of the print, one of the most important preserved medieval castles in the world. Also pictured are the Palace of Delhi, the Taj Mahal, and the crucifixion of Jesus.

The map is in full color with beautiful detail and finely produced illustrations. With its fascinating historical detail, this map by Blondel la Rougery is a beautiful example of mid-century mapmaking and pictorial cartography.
