This is a prominent view of the Cape of Good Hope with Dutch Galleons sailing just off the coast and Table Mountain rising in the background. A second image depicts the Dutch fort which is known today a the "Castle of Good Hope," on a starry night with a smaller vessel at sail. The castle of Good Hope was built by the Dutch East India Company between 1666 and 1679 and is presently the oldest building in South Africa.
Condition: This print is in A condition with a strong impression of clean paper and ample margins on all sides.
