1861 National Portrait Gallery of Eminent Americans
DESCRIPTION
This is a fine antique book on important American orators, politicians, naval and military heroes, jurists, authors, etc. of the late 18th and early 19th century. Originally published in two volumes, this is volume I of II with a total of 72 biographies accompanied by a fine lithograph print of each eminent American made from Paintings by Alonzo Chappel.
CONDITION
This book is in good condition with some minor rub on the edge of the spine and corners of the leather-bound boards. Some pages have a decent amount of foxing, but most have very little. All pages are intact and bound to the original spine.
