This nostalgic vintage map by Cecil Meyer is a lovely pre-World War II depiction of the British Isles featuring historic architectural edifices such as cathedrals, castles and manor houses along with many well-known monuments and other iconic destinations.
The map is bordered by coats of arms from various cities of the British Isles and is embellished with decorative cartouches for Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales, and a colorful compass rose. A portion of France, starting at Dunkirk and extending to south of Cherbourg, is also featured. The verso highlights ‘The British Isles – Home of History and Romance’, and includes lovely black and white photos of cities and scenic landmarks throughout the Isles.
