City Hall, Chicago, 1895
DESCRIPTION
This is actually an image of twin buildings, occupying an entire square, and erected at 5 million dollars! The City Hall contained a Public Library, while on the ground floor are the headquarters of the fire department, (consisting of 1000 men). Horse-drawn trolleys, along with buggies, can be viewed along the fairly empty streets. However, the following year the automobile would be invented, and change everything. City Hall remains standing and very active to this very day.
