This is an exceptional, original vintage poster for the motion picture Star Wars, episode V, The Empire Strikes Back directed by George Lucas, starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels. This poster is the style "A" example, often referred to as the Gone With The Wind design.
The artwork was done by Roger Kasten who pays homage to Tom Jung, the artist of the Episode IV poster by reenacting his design for the 1967 Gone With The Wind poster with Han Solo holding Princess Leia in his arms. The poster also features Luke Skywalker riding a Tauntaun, with R2D2, C3PO, and Chewbacca looking on. The head of Darth Vader fills the top portion of the poster with two X-Wings fully engaged in battle, all of this below the tagline "The Star Wars Saga Continues."
Condition: This original poster is in A condition, professionally linen backed for preservation and presentation purposes. Any short edge tears have been closed and reinforced and any distress to the paper from original folds have been touched up to offer a exceptional eye-appeal.
