This is an original, hand-colored, antique print of Dearborn Station in Chicago, Illinois. It was issued in the November 7th edition of Harper’s Weekly in 1885. 

Dearborn Station was constructed in 1885 as one of several transportation hubs that served the various railroad companies in operation across Chicago. Ornate ironwork can be seen around the elaborate awning that shaded the crowded sidewalks, while carriages and pedestrians crowd the street.

Condition: Very fine with bright colors on clean paper with minimal foxing. A few small marginal tears are apparent with a one-inch tear at the top reinforced on the verso with archival materials.
