1935 Delaware
DESCRIPTION
This lively map of the state of Delaware is especially active along the Atlantic coast. It is famous for explosives, gardens, and orchards. Since the state is a low plain, some of the riches farms are on land that has been recovered from the Bay, by building dikes. The Bay has great oyster beds, not to mention the fish yield, such as sturgeon and shad. Delaware Bay is connected with Chesapeake Bay by a ship canal, 13 miles long, excavated across the state.
