1905 / 1906 Map of the State of Wyoming
DESCRIPTION
This is a finely detailed map of Wyoming produced at the turn of the 20th century for the Economic Geology of Fuels with a focus on coal. The map is presented in a surveyor's format showing abundant hydrologic detail throughout.
A key within the map explains the color coding as it refers to indian reservations, military lands, forest, county and land district boundaries, and the locations of U.S. land offices, and the Surveyor General's Office. The map includes Yellow Stone National Park and the Teton Range as well as four small inset maps showing Evanston, Laramie, Sheridan, and Cheyenne.
A separate key pertains to townships containing coal and townships that probably contain coal, which is the overriding theme of the map as it was produced with a focus on the economic geology of fuels.
