This antique print is of Randolph Street, in Chicago, 1895.  The prominent building in front, is of the Masonic Temple, which was the tallest building at that time, rising 21 stories!  It was constructed of Maine marble, costing close to one million dollars, later to be demolished in 1939.

Transportation consisted of Trolley cars and  horse-drawn buggies, as the invention of the automobile would happen the following year, changing the street traffic forever. Chicago is still well known for its' amazing architecture.
