About Dinosaur National Monument
This fascinating American National Monument is in the Southwest flank of the Uinta Mountains, on the border between Colorado and Utah. Established in 1915 to preserve the dinosaur rock quarry the area was expanded from 211 acres to 210,844 acres in 1938. Known for its 800+ paleontological sites, primarily comprising dinosaur fossils, the park attracts over 300,000 visitors annually.
