An original chromolithograph view of Pekin, now Beijing, China as it was in the late 19th century. The view looks down on the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City, which was constructed from 1406 to 1420. 

This view was one of sixteen depictions of international cities that appeared in William Collins's "The Complete Atlas, Consisting of One Hundred and Twenty Maps of Modern, Historical, Classical, and Physical Geography," published out of Glasgow in 1878.

Condition: Print is in B+ condition with some soiling and foxing confined to wide margins.
