1762 Plan of the City and Harbour of Havanna
DESCRIPTION
A detailed map and harbor chart of Havana, Cuba, oriented with south at the top and complete with depth soundings, featuring a seventeen-point legend noting significant landmarks. This plan emerged during the latter stages of the Seven Years' War, coinciding with the British deployment of five warships and 4,000 troops for an assault and capture of Havana. Subsequently, in the Treaty of Paris the ensuing year, Britain would exchange control of Cuba for possession of Florida.
