This highly collectible map is number 72 from a Limited Edition Print of 150, published by Fuller in Bristol in 2015, and is to be found in such notable collections as the British Library, the Museum of London, and the Bristol Museum.
Artist Fuller’s London Town map is frequently referred to as an illustrated psychogeoraphical map of London, with psychogeography defined as the aimless wandering or drifting through cities to discover their hidden corridors. In contrast to modern tourism, this aimless wandering allows one to learn a city’s stories to discover and celebrate the identity of its special places.
London Town is the result of a decade of work and information gathering, exploring and meditation. The map depicts all well-known iconic places plus myriad mysterious forms and allusions which may have meaning for only the author himself, who spent more than a decade in researching, investigating, exploring and contemplating the city. Indeed, London became a significant chapter in his life, archived for extended periods and described in minutiae.
All told, London Town is the result of over a thousand hours of drawing and countless hours of research. The map is a hand pulled lithographic print with archival ink on velvet archival paper.
Included with the map is an original certificate of authenticity signed and stamped by Fuller.
