The poster was created by Willem Ten Broek, a Dutch artist known for incorporating clean lines and primary colors on large surfaces. One of his most notable works is this poster, which became the influence for the Holland-America Line logo shortly after its creation. The poster was published in Dutch and English as the line served the ports of Rotterdam and New York.

Condition: The poster is in B condition with a few scrapes, a tear that extends a few inches into the poster at left center, and some restoration work at top center that used blue paint that doesn’t match the surrounding area. Poster has been professionally linen backed for preservation purposes.
