Several other trails including that of Humboldt, Applegate, Bozeman, and the start of the Santa Fe Trail are also included within the map. Early frontier settlements such as Ft. Sutter, Virginia City, Ft. Vancouver, Ft. Walla Walla, Oregon City, Ft. Boise, Ft, Bridger, and Ft, Laramie can be found along the way. The map is surrounded by a decorative border that includes portraits of important American figures, scenes of life along the trail, seals of states that would one day be founded along the trail, and wagon trains above and below.
