1862 Map of Canada West in Counties
DESCRIPTION
This is an authentic, antique lithograph map of the most populated portion of Ontario Canada by Samuel Augustus Mitchell Jr. The map was published in Philadelphia as part of Mitchell's New General Atlas of 1862. It centers on Toronto and shows much of the country along lakes Huron, Erie, and Ontario. Counties are color coded and important transportation routs, towns, and cities are noted throughout. The map is surrounded by an elaborate floral boarder that distinguished Mitchell’s works from other map makers of his era.
