This is an authentic antique map of Idaho Montana Wyoming Dakota and Nebraska by Alvin Johnson. The map was published in New York City 1870.
This map of the north-central United States shows the area during a time of accelerated development. At the time this map was published Idaho Montana Wyoming and Dakota were all territories with new towns and settlements sprouting up throughout what was still wild lands highly populated with Native American tribes.
Throughout the map tribes, towns, rivers, railroads and stage coach routes are noted. A variety of natural and man-made features are also included such as hot springs in Montana silver mines in Idaho and trading posts in Wyoming to name a few. This is a great map with regard to portraying a vast region of the country during a time of settlement and westward expansion.
Condition: Map is in B+ condition with original coloring and minor edge chips confined to the margins.
