DESCRIPTION

This lively advertisement is for a television, by General Electric.  It displays in black and white, a young child clearly excited about watching a professional Baseball Game on the Television. In this scene, the boy can actually see the home run hit instead of just hearing about it on the radio.

The GE advertisement claims to make "more goods for more people at less cost," and boasts General Electric’s contribution to the U.S. economy with an all-caps line “MORE AND BETTER JOBS AT HIGHER WAGES.” These catch-phrases and lengthy text in advertisements were important and commonly used tactics in the marketing business from this time period.
