Indian Attack at Fort Dearborn, 1880
DESCRIPTION
The Fort Dearborn Indian attack occurred during the War of 1812. It lasted 15 minutes and resulted in a complete victory for the Potawatomi Indians, with the Fort being burned down. More than 200 years after the Fort was built, Chicago is still centered on the few acres just south of where the Chicago River meets Lake Michigan.
