By: American Locomotive, Ty Mahon

Date: 1943

Dimensions: 13.75 x 11.75 inches

A full page, full color advertisement by Ty Mahon, a period cartoon artist, commissioned by American Locomotive. Depicting a man in ragged clothes, presumably digging for food in a garbage can just outside a fine-dining establishment. Through the window in the upper left corner, we see several Nazi officers mingling with a Nazi swastika flag on the wall, enjoying refreshments and chef cooked meals. The text under the artistry outlines a grim scene, urging Americans to enjoy every bit of high-priced, rationed food products. American Locomotive held offices in New York City, and at this time were focusing on wartime manufacturing.

Condition: This single page advertisement is in A condition, with no visible toning, color fading or tears.
