Uncolored litho of Col. James A. Mulligan, the gallant defender of Lexington, MO.  Mulligan was from the 23rd Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the Union Army, during the Civil War. Colonel Mulligan was commander of Camp Douglas, a prisoner of war camp at Chicago, IL, between February 25, 1862 and June 14, 1862 and is known for making some effort in improving the conditions in the camp for the confederate prisioners.

Condition:  Print is in A condition with a dark impression and full margins. Some light damp staining is apparent along the left margin.
