DESCRIPTION
A bright and airy single page ad for the mild and better-tasting Chesterfield cigarette, showing a young woman dressed as a football referee signaling a “time-out”. Claiming to satisfy millions of cigarette smokers across the United States, there is a clear image of the packaging in the lower right corner. The Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company was headquartered in Durham, North Carolina in 1911, and remains there to this day, operating as the fourth largest tobacco distributor in the United States.
