This print was created by Henri Abraham Chatelain and published in 1720 as part of his seven-volume work “Atlas Historique”. Fourteen vignettes depict the lifestyle of Indians of Virginia and provide keen historical insight into their mode of dress, transportation, food preparation, and even funerary customs. A fortified village is shown in detail as is the construction-in-progress of a canoe.

Condition: This print is in C+ condition with light toning and some minor foxing. A few minor separations have been repaired on the verso. Print exhibits a strong impression, with full margins.
