This is an authentic hand-colored antique map by the prominent cartographer John Cary. It depicts the Netherlands (in the literal meaning of the word, 'low lands'), Luxembourg, and western Germany. Colored areas depict officially designated departments.
Cities, towns, and small villages are denoted as are natural features such as forests, lakes, inlets of the sea and rivers. The mouths of a number of rivers where they empty into the North Sea are also denoted. Shipping routes and roads are delineated.
Condition: This map is in B+ condition, with delicate original hand coloring and wide borders all around. Minor foxing and discoloration.
