The 8 scenes depict several stages of capturing wild horses: Scenting Danger; The first Burst; Relief Going Out (Herd in the distance); Deadbeat; the Return With Our Captives; Lassoing; Holding the Captives; Creasing Horses.
Alfred Chantrey Corbould: He was a renowned artist elected a member of the British Society. He produced a book of hunting pictures A sporting artist and caricaturist, he adopted a mode of dress of a fancy vest, flat white tie with horseshoe pinback felt hat, very tight trousers and a red sash.
The Graphic Newspaper: This was a popular British weekly newspaper first published in 1869. The influence of The Graphic within the art world was immense one of its many admirers was Vincent van Gogh.
