"The One-Day Trip that Bankrupts the English Language."
Complete with eighteen colored images and a map, this beautiful photo reproduction book shows the principal points of interest from Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek Gold Camp, over America's most famous mountain highway. The "Short Line" was known as America's most famous scenic route.
Produced at the turn of the 20th century, these photo booklets provided some of the earliest colored images of the American West. The first page of the booklet notes how the "views in color has been produced in response to the urgent demand for an Official Souvenir of the most wonderful of all scenic trips." This same page describes the Short Line tour as "The One-Day Trip that Bankrupts the English Language."
Condition: Booklet is in fine condition with some light fading and wear to the edges of the covers. Colored images inside are clean, secure, and complete. An overall very pleasing example.
