Color litho of Major Gen. W. S. Rosecrans, who was an American inventor, coal-oil company executive, diplomat, politician, & U.S. Army officer. A West Point graduate, Rosecrans gained fame for his role as a Union general serving as a subordinate of Ulysses S. Grant during the American Civil War. He was involved in many battles, including the battle of Luka, Corinth, Stones River, Tullahoma, and Chickamauga.
Condition: These prints are in very good condition with some light damp-staining along the left margin, well away from the image.
