This is an authentic antique map of Colorado. The map was published by Rand McNally out of Chicago with a copyright date of 1904.

Before exploring this map, one should take note of a small explanation in the lower right corner of the map. It reads “Relative importance of places shown by type size.” During the early part of the 20th century Colorado’s most valuable asset was its mining industry. The town of Leadville located in Lake County is show with a typeset just as large as Denver. Today the old mining town is most known for its Mountain College, annual Skijouring competition and for being the highest town in North America. Red numbers throughout the map note the location of various railroads that corresponds with a key in the top right portion of the map.

Condition: Map is in A condition, with little paper browning and bright, original coloring.
