This is an authentic antique map of Northwestern Africa, by Christopher Weigel. It was published in Nuremberg for the atlas Descriptio Orbis Antiqui in XLIV in the year 1720.
This map features the areas of Mauretania and Numidia, and comes with an elaborate cartouche composed of thirty six medallions that feature elements of ancient coinage, history, and culture.
Condition: Map is in B condition with original color, some minor foxing that is mostly confined to the margins, and a lower centerfold separation that just enters the image.
