An original chromolithograph view of Montreal, Quebec as it would have appeared in the late 19th century. The view looks down on the city from the hilltops to the north with the St. Lawrence River in the background. Smokestacks and ships in the river shows the French city bustling with activity while a few individuals and a dog enjoy the great outdoors in the foreground.
This view was one of sixteen depictions of international cities that appeared in William Collins's "The Complete Atlas, Consisting of One Hundred and Twenty Maps of Modern, Historical, Classical, and Physical Geography," published out of Glasgow in 1878.
Condition: Print is in A condition presenting a vivid image on clean paper with full margins on all sides.
