DESCRIPTION
An original chromolithograph view of New York City as it was in the late 19th century prior to the construction of bridges. The view looks down on lower Manhattan and the East River with Brooklyn appearing to the right.
This view was one of sixteen depictions of international cities that appeared in William Collins's "The Complete Atlas, Consisting of One Hundred and Twenty Maps of Modern, Historical, Classical, and Physical Geography," published out of Glasgow in 1878.
CONDITION
Print is in B+ condition with some soiling and foxing confined to wide margins.
